Cerro El Pital is known to have 8 of the 9 Salvadorian conifer species.
Last time that I visited the forest around 2640 m. near the top inside a forest with Quercus, Taxus globosa and
other species, I was able to find the only missing species: Podocarpus oleifolius. With this finding now it can be
said that this place has the 9 conifer species from El Salvador growing at the same place, but at different altitudes.
It was possible to find just one tree, but surely more must be growing inside the cloud forest.
