 Cypress Point, Monterey Peninsula.
Cupressus macrocarpa grows in two locations on the immediate coast near Monterey. The grove at Cypress point is on the 17 mile drive (toll road). The other grove is at Point Lobos State Park, about 5 miles to the south. This grove has many scenic trails on which the trees can be observed in their native seaside habit. Summer weather is cool and foggy. Frost seldom occurs on the coast in the Monterey area in winter, and snow is a once in a lifetime event.
